Activities in The Gambia

  • Fishing excursions: The Gambia is home to a wide variety of common fish species.Fishing trips can be organised.

     

  • Golfing: There are two courses in The Gambia, the 18-hole, par-69 Fajara course, which is located less than 20 minutes by car from Afroco Apartments, and the 9-hole, par-3 Kololi Beach Club course, which is located in the Senegambia area and less than ten minutes by car from Afroco Apartments.

     

  • Swimming and Tennis: The Fajara club and a few of the bigger hotels in the Senegambia region have on-site tennis courts and equipment for rent. There are also swimming pools available for a charge.

     

  • Massages and beauty treatments: The Coco Ocean Hotel & Spa, which offers a range of spa services along with a beautiful spa area featuring a sauna and hamam, is less than a 5-minute drive from the Afroco Apartments.

     

  • Observing birds: The Gambia is home to a huge variety of bird species. If you would like to visit more of the areas, you may easily hire a guide to take you there. Try visiting Kotu Stream and Tanji Bird Reserve, two close places.

     

  • Banjul: Banjul is the capital and port of the Gambia. Among other places, you can visit the Arch 22 and the Albert Market in Banjul by taking guided excursions.

     

  • Bijilo Forest Park, sometimes known as "Monkey Park," is a beautiful park where you may stroll and see long-tailed monkeys and, if you're lucky, scarlet colobus monkeys.

     

  • River Boat Trips: You may arrange river boat trips that will take you through the River Gambia and showcase its beauty.

  • Kachikally: The Afroco Apartments are just 30 minutes' drive from Kachikally, Bakau, home of the sacred crocodiles. These crocodiles, who reside in a traditional crocodile pool, are thought to have unique healing powers. It has a small museum as well as the opportunity to get up close and personal with these incredible reptiles. You too, the incredibly courageous one, can pat them.

     

  • Brikama Craft Market: The biggest wood carving market in the Gambia, it's around a thirty-minute drive from Afroco Apartments. You can watch skilled artists at work as they create beautiful pieces of art. If looking around isn't enough, you can also buy some stunning African sculptures and artworks here for surprisingly affordable prices.
